Beaufort County School District students have won 56 Southeast regional recognitions in the 2025 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards competition. (Please see attached for a sampling of the Gold Key award-winning artwork.)
“We want parents to know that Beaufort County School District is the best choice for their children,” said Superintendent Frank Rodriguez. “Our offerings are extensive, innovative, and engaging. There’s something to match every student’s interests and future career plans.”
Students in each 2025-2026 cohort will earn both high school and college credit for completing TCL classes taught by TCL instructors. Dual enrollment classes are free to district students. Uniquely, BCSD Tides students will complete the program as a cohort beginning in ninth grade and can graduate high school with two associate degrees and a technical certificate from TCL.
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Bluffton High School located at 12 H.E. McCracken Circle in Bluffton. Interested candidates can register online at https://tinyurl.com/8nfjeabt.
“This project is made possible from the referendum approved by voters in November of 2023,” said Superintendent Frank Rodriguez. He expressed gratitude for having significant community support in support of students. “This new addition will support expanding CTE programs such as welding, automotive, nursing, and robotics to provide students the tools and skills needed to succeed in the modern workforce."
Moody’s Investors Service has again assigned the Beaufort County School District (BCSD) an Aa1 underlying credit rating, its second-highest possible score. There is not another District in South Carolina with a higher Moody’s rating.
The first forum will be Bluffton High School at 6 p.m., Wednesday, April 30. The second will be at Beaufort High School at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 1.
Battery Creek High School Counselor Jessica Stone is the Beaufort County School District’s 2025 School Counselor of the Year.
In addition to honoring Stone, the district also recognized River Ridge Academy’s Zoe Greene as the Rookie School Counselor of the Year.
